About Nicky
BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy mBANT
B.Comm LLB LLM
Hi, my name is Nicky and I am a qualified Nutritional Therapist working in Sydney's CBD.
I help men and women over 40 to figure out what to eat.
Something changes when we hit 40. Weight gain accelerates, muscle and joint injuries niggle, and blood markers start to move in the wrong direction. Knowing what to do is difficult. Regular healthcare providers suggest 'eating better and moving more' but most people have already tried this and it hasn't helped or it has made things worse!
Nutrition is incredibly powerful, but the power of nutrition is only unlocked when you identify the right diet for you. There is no single 'right diet' for everyone. This is why there are so many 'nutrition myths', 'diet wars' and 'fights' about which is 'the best diet.' My job is to help you identify your 'right' diet. I then help you to stay motivated and accountable to that diet over time. For many, getting help with this process provides hugh relief from what can be a significant mental burden.
I have a no-nonsense and practical approach to nutrition that many describe as refreshing. I understand that many people don’t want to give up alcohol, eat kale or drink green smoothies.
My clients are a mixture of men and women ranging from age 36 through to 85 and there are many success stories among them. It is truly rewarding when clients make a few simple changes and get the results they are after. Once they figure out the right diet for them, they effortlessly lose weight, regain their energy, feel good in their clothes again and feel happier and healthier overall.
This really is the most fantastic and rewarding job and this is why I love what I do!
I see clients online, in Sydney's CBD or (sometimes) in Rose Bay or online.
Please get in touch if you would like to have a chat to see if Nutritional Therapy could help you.

A bit about me and how I entered the world of nutrition
I left the corporate world and became a Nutritional Therapist when some simple diet and lifestyle changes helped me to get pregnant with my first child.
Before my nutrition career I spent 13 years doing Change Management and Tax Consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sydney and London. Before this I earned Bachelor degrees in Commerce and Law and a Masters degree in Law (majoring in Tax!).
I am a registered Nutritional Therapist with the UK Complementary Healthcare Council (CNHC). I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT). I am also a BANT registered Nutritionist. I have recently completed my Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nutritional Therapy. My major research project focused on urinary issues due to prostate issues.
I live in Sydney's East. I am a mother to 4 young children. I love sport, getting outside and keeping life as simple as possible. My youngest son Michael has Down Syndrome.
"Nicky provides sensible and no-nonsense advice that many describe as refreshing in a world overwhelmed by green smoothies and quinoa salads"
What Is Nutritional Therapy?
Everyone is different.
This is why I offer personalised nutrition advice.
I focus on the root cause of why you are feeling the way you are - this is known the functional or integrative medicine approach. I’m not interested in temporary fixes or short-term solutions. I want to find the underlying cause of your symptoms and help you to make diet and lifestyle changes that will support you in the long-term.
Most of us know we should eat more vegetables and less cakes and biscuits. But do you really know how to optimise and personalise your diets? I will help you to understand the foods that are right for you so you can put your best foot forward in life.
Nutrition and food choices are not a one-size fits all. What works for one person may be terrible for another. This is because we are all individuals with a unique biochemistry and unique needs. This may explain why your friend can eat bread, pasta all day every day and feel fine, while you feel dreadful.
Nutritional Therapy focuses on getting to the root cause of someone’s symptoms so that you can address the underlying problem once and for all. This approach is grounded in functional medicine (read more about it here). The idea of functional medicine was a lightbulb moment for me as I realised that symptoms would keep coming back (perhaps in different ways) until the root cause was addressed. In other words, get rid of the broken glass, don’t just stick on another BandAid or plaster.
I work collaboratively with your GP and other health practitioners if this is something you would like. Your GP should always be first port of call for any health issue or concern.
